Speculative Design offers designers the chance to critically and playfully speculate and explore alternative futures or histories, to challenge the status quo, and to ask questions. The workshop Newfound Boundaries uses a critical and speculative design approach to exploring the topic of boundaries. Boundaries may be constructed as social, political, legal, territorial, environmental or digital borders that need to be examined, hacked, subverted, made or unmade. The workshop participants will be asked to complete a set of short briefs as well as working on a self-initiated project related to the theme.
